We are the independent youth wing of the Scottish Green Party (SGP). This means we support the Scottish Green Party by helping to run campaigns, standing Young Green candidates for elections, and sitting on all SGP decision-making bodies. However, not all our members are members of the Scottish Green Party, and we maintain links to organisations fighting for social and environmental justice locally, nationally and internationally.

We are radically pro-equality and anti-environmental destruction. This means we oppose capitalism as a system which is reliant on exploiting people and the planet, and which creates systemic inequalities against working-class communities, people of colour, women and LGBTQ+ people. We want to help build a society which puts people and planet over profit, and believe this can be best achieved with an independent Scotland inside the European Union.

To achieve our aims, we empower young people in taking collective action. To that end, we run educational events, such as young candidate training, events for change, such as our Landlords Need Not Apply event, and internal events, such as our AGM. We also campaign, having recently led the momentous #SummerSAAS campaign, which forced the Scottish Government into concessions for students. We’ve also campaigned on issues such as mental health education in schools and affordable housing.
